Never regret, keep moving

How do you pick up the threads of a turbulent past? How do you carry on when instinctively you begin to understand there's no reversing back? You've probably had some heavy meal for lunch and it's slowly taking it's toll on you. Your stomach rumbles, your eye lids begin to close and you soon begin to resemble nothing but a grown lazy pig in a puddle of water. The boss is out of the building and so you resort to spend the whole afternoon doing much of nothing. But just before siesta can get the best of you, a text comes in, and the phone remains in your hands. One thing leads to the next and now it's evident all your attention is bent on the gadget. You qiuickly click on the blue icon with the letter 'f' engraved on it. Well you are now on facebook. And you realize you hav'nt been online for the past two weeks or so and theres alot you have missed on the cyber space. You scroll down gently and boom!! there goes Sharon's photo seated next to a gentleman. Sharon is your ex girlfriend and you hav'nt heard from her for the past five months either because your programme is too fixed or you've decided to assume she really never exists. Men are fond of maintaining chit chats with their exes but at the same time fear being mistaken for being desperate so maybe that's your line of defence. This discovery comes at a time when your affair with Stacy is on the rocks. She is apparently snubbing your calls because you are that untamed beast who has maintained the cycle of breaking rules and being coy when cornered. You panic and try to unravel the mystery sorrounding the photo. Things go awfully wrong when the caption reveals to you the reality of the matter. The gentleman holdin Sharon is indeed her fiance and they'll be getting married in a months time.
My brother to be candid with you, she just wanted to keep you guessing till you    discover the truth by yourself.
You had expected some other things in the event of a worst case scenario but clearly this was not one of them.
You pause for a moment to verify that it's really not some sort of a make believe thing and shake your head in disbelief, now you cant even take that nap.
It's certain you still have a special spot for Sharon because you now seem so restless and confused.
You really did liked her alot even though you acted like a dumb jerk  during your heydays. You are gradually embracing the reality even though it's getting a bit hard at the same time. Women tend to make their exes aware of their new found catch and create the impression that they are always on the good side of life with the aim of inflicting regret and anguish.
And infact you would'nt be surprised to see her posting pictures of her expectant self in just a few months down the line. So be wise and just unfriend or block if at all you want to save your skin from all the unecessarily cheap drama.
I know this is hard but just make the decision and avoid heaping all that depression on your shoulders. The irresistable urge of snooping or spying is ever present, and that's where it gets incredibly hard to discipline oneself. Your agonies dont end there as more pictures are on her wall and she showers him with so much praise. You can't like or comment because either of those two actions will potray you as hopeless fellow or rather a loser. You will always see that gentleman as ugly, unkempt, barbaric, the best words i'm never gonna find but your imaginations will do little to change the situation.
You'll always feel smarter and more handsome than the other guy, well that's just an act of jealousy which is very much normal and anticipated.
But don't miss the point. Sharon cared so much about you, she would put up with your smelly socks, cheating habit and tolerate all your mischief. The harder she tried the worser you became. You try to figure our what really happened but you will never find an answer because you are always right. Poor lad that's what you get for snooping, the devastating truth which will take you a considerable amount of time to overcome . You are now irrelevant and part of history, funny how your actions got someone else a wife. What fascinates me most about men though is their resilience, but again one might be mistaken to think that men actually withstand all the pain but that's far fetched. We hurt alot but lets just say it beats logic for a grown ass man to shed tears like a toddler, infact it's just amusing. Back to the story, you leave the office completely dejected and begin to contemplate how to fix the puzzle. But that is folly, because you have a chance with Stacy who is no different from Sharon. Mend things and avoid a similar mistake that's the art of being a real man. Holding on where theres no hope will greatly erode your dignity and self esteem. If it did'nt work out with Sharon then definitely it will never work again in the future.
